I am about to reveal to you everything I know about losing weight. Or, at least, what's worked for me.
It's a two-pronged approach:
1) get a dog
2) quit drinking so much soda.
With these two tips, I have lost 20 pounds so far. Here's how it works.
First, the dog. We adopted Wrangler The Dog a few years ago, so I would have an incentive to get some exercise. I had become somewhat of a couch potato and adopting a dog ensured that I would get out of the house a few times a day to get some exercise. We walk at least two miles a day together, and there are days that we have walked eight miles. In March, he and I walked more than 100 miles, and I'm on track to do that again this month.
This helped me lose a litthe weight, but I got to the point where I wasn't losing anymore. I had to take my plan to the next level:
Second, the soda. Soda was my one vice. I would have it with breakfast. I would have a can in the afternoon. If I went out to lunch, I would have a soda. I would have soda with dinner. I always had at least two sodas a day and sometimes more. In May I quit cold-turkey for three weeks, then gradually began easing into more responsible soda drinking. I may have two sodas a week now, instead of two a day. I carry a bottle of water wherever I go.
Since I cut WAY back on the soda, I've dropped almost 20 pounds and am still losing weight. That's it. No secret. No special pill. No special fitness program. Just 1) exercise, and 2) watch what you eat/drink.
I hope it works for you as well as it is working for me!
