Wednesday's jackpot is $1.3 Billion. If the numbers I've chosen come up, I will hire Luke Bryan to come to one lucky KiiM-FM listener's house and dance in their living room. 

AND I will hire George Strait to do a free concert for KiiM-FM listeners at Arizona Stadium.

Things I've learned on this trip to Las Vegas

1) the Pawn Stars shop is mostly closed due to renovations. They have a temporary entrance in the back and seem to only be selling touristy things and Chumlee tshirts. Kind of a letdown, although we've been there plenty of other times before. 

2) the Fremont Street zipline is closed - due to renovations. So my daredevil daughter went on the roller coaster at New York New York instead.

3) You can't get to the Strip from Desert Inn Road. It goes OVER Las Vegas Blvd. Or under. Not sure which, but you can't exit at the Strip.

4) Nobody here will give me directions to Area 51. 

5) we take a darn good family picture:

Here is my schedule for the next few days:

Tomorrow (8/29): Fill in on morning show (Max and Shannon are headed on their Mediterranean Vacation cruise)
Friday 8/30: Fill in on morning show, then LEAVE FOR VEGAS!

Saturday 8/31: Vegas, Baby! (Brad Paisley / Chris Young concert)
Sunday 9/1: Vegas, baby!
Monday 9/2: Vegas, baby! And then, sadly, drive back to Tucson
Tuesday 9/3-Friday 9/6: Fill in on morning show again.
Saturday 9/7: Give away a new Harley from Miller High Life and KiiM-FM 99.5 - details coming!
Monday 9/9: back to the afternoon show.

Regarding Luke Bryan

Earlier this spring I saw Luke Bryan win the "Entertainer of The Year" award at the ACMs and thought, "hmm - not sure I understand that one."

Last night I saw Luke in concert in Phoenix and thought, "now I totally get it."

In the past few years Luke has worked very hard to build a loyal fan base of all ages. In particular he has engaged college-aged music fans and brought many of them to country music for the first time. Luke's onstage personality is fun, always in motion, humorous and crowd-pleasing. He brought a little girl on stage for her birthday, he took "selfies" with people's camera phones as they passed them up from the crowd, and he kept the crowd on their feet until the very end.

Great show last night. Looking forward to a long career ahead.
