My new fitness toy

Back in March, I lost my Fitbit digital pedometer while walking Wrangler The Dog. Thankfully, I retraced my steps and found it the next day.

What I love about the Fitbit is that it tracks your steps, distance, etc, and uploads all that information to a dashboard so you can track your progress. What I didn't like about it is that the way it clips onto your clothes makes it susceptible to falling off.

Finally, Fitbit has come out with a pedometer you can wear on your wrist - the Fitbit Flex. I preordered mine the night I thought I'd lost my Fitbit, and it finally came over the weekend. So far, so good. You can sleep with it (it tracks your sleep), it's water resistant so you can leave it on in the shower, and it will sync with my iPhone so I can basically get realtime data instead of having to wait to get home and sync with my computer, which is how I used to do it.

It looks like this, and you can order different color bands if you want. I went with black ("slate") because it goes with everything.

If you are looking for a cool way to track your exercise, look at the Fitbit Flex. It's about $100 at amazon.com.
