Tonight is the Station Of The Union Address, so with that in mind, here's the Station Of The Station address as delivered earlier this afternoon on KiiM-FM:
Friends, listeners, country music artists... The State Of The Station is awesome. Max, Shannon and Porkchop continue to wake up the people of Tucson with free money every morning. Cactus Dave plays your requests at lunch each day, Kricket The Head Traffic Ranger gets you to and from work every day, and I'm working on trying to convince George Strait to un-retire. Or, if he's gonna retire, he should retire to Tucson and buy a house here and play every weekend at The Maverick.
We learned that no matter the team or the sport, if I root for them, they loose.
We learned that for the 3rd year in a row, channel 4 is better at basketball than the KIIM crew. Maybe I should root for channel 4.
We were nominated for a CMA Award and didn't win. Maybe I should root for another station.
Some might call this a good record. I call it a good start. Tonight I pledge that in 2013 we will continue to exceed your expectations for country music and fun.
