2008 State Of The Station Address

2008 State Of The Station

Friends, listeners, advertisers.. the state of the station is AWESOME!

Max, Shannon & The Porkchop continue to give away more money than anyone else in the morning… along with concert tickets and more. Kricket helps a million people get to and from work every day… Cactus Dave keeps you working with a smile on your face, and Lois Lewis puts the first shift to bed and keeps the second shift busy at work, while Charlie Martinez entertains the third shift all night long. Last year, Buzz Jackson was nominated for the medium market personality of the year by the Country Music Association…. And last year KiiM-FM was nominated for station of the year by the Academy Of Country Music.

But is it enough? I say “no.”

So this year we did everything we could to be everywhere.

In April, I had my picture taken with the Star Wars mailbox.

In July we melted gummy bears and chocolate in my car to demonstrate how hot the inside of a vehicle gets in the summertime. Some may call that a public service, I call that fun!

We showed our support of the military by hanging around D-M all day in March hoping that one of the Blue Angels media guests would not be able to fly and I would get to go instead.

In February I showed my support of country music by dragging my family into New York City in 14-degree weather so we could watch Keith Urban play on the Today Show.

This year KiiM-FM gave away two cars: A Jeep Patriot and a Mitsubishi Raider pickup truck!

In November we held our first annual Buzzy Awards, and gave away trophies ranging from best badonkadonk to the song you’ll be able to sing even after you die.

And in December, KiiM-FM collected more than three million pennies for the Arizona’s Children Association.

Some might call this a good record. I call it a good start. Tonight I pledge that in 2008 we will continue to exceed your expectations for country music and fun.

Listen here.
