State Of The Station

This is the time of year when the President delivers his State Of The Union address, and the Governor delivered her State Of The State address yesterday. Here's our State Of The Station:

Friends, listeners, advertisers, traffic rangers… every year we gather to consider the state of the station. This year I am proud to announce that the state of the station is excellent!

Max, Shannon and the Porkchop continue to lead our radio station through the minefield that is morning drive radio, although there was that week that Chop couldn’t make it to work because he got his hand stuck in the ice cream machine on the Golden Corral buffet.

Dusty and Dave continue to do well, and this year we welcomed Lois Lewis to the airwaves! Finally, Charlie Martinez continues to put the late shift to bed and wake up the early shift each day. And Kricket helps a million people every day get to and from work.

During the last year we have seen what can be accomplished when we work together. For example, we have determined that it is not possible to cook popcorn in the engine compartment of a 2005 Chevy Aveo.

We learned that if you post a video of your daughter on YouTube doing an impression of Faith Hill taking a shot at Carrie Underwood, 40,000 people will watch it in less than two months.

We learned that no contest generates more complaints than “Guess What’s In My Mouth And Win!

And we learned that the CMA’s standards are WAY higher than the ACMs.

Some might call this a good record. I call it a good start. Tonight I pledge that in 2007 we will continue to exceed your expectations for country music and fun.

Thank you.
